What are Managed Services?
Leading companies contract the operations of a specific business function to a third party; this practice is known as Business Process Outsourcing (BPO). Most common forms of BPO relate to payroll, accounting or janitorial services. Managed Services are the IT subset of BPO. We have excellent IT resources, why would we consider MaintenanceFreeIT? IT resources can be used for routine maintenance or to support business initiatives. MaintenanceFreeIT takes care of the mundane tasks, allowing your IT department to focus on your strategic objectives, driving your business forward and saving you money in the process. Is EssentiaLink just another “break-fix” company? Absolutely not. EssentiaLink is not in the computer repair (break-fix) business. Our MaintenanceFreeIT is a powerful suite of services that manage the maintenance of your IT resources. The maintenance includes, but is not limited to, patches, updates, back up, security, and software deployment. When things "break" we immediately notify your staff so they can affect repairs. If I sign up for this MantenenceFreeIT, can I or should I eliminate my IT department? We do not recommend eliminating your IT department. By relieving your IT staff of routine maintenance tasks, your IT professionals can and should be transformed into strategic contributors focused upon revenue-generating activities. If I sign up for this program, what is my commitment? Clients sign up for a 36-month commitment. This allows us to allocate the appropriate resources to your account. The terms & conditions are detailed in the service level agreements. Are new hardware and software installation costs covered under this agreement? Yes. For MaintenanceFree Firewall and MaintenanceFree BDR required hardware is included as part of the services detailed in the Service Level Agreements for each. There are NO hidden charges. As part of the trusted@dvisor™ service, we will make network improvement suggestions, but any hardware improvements or upgrades would be at your discretion. Do you guarantee that I won’t have any technical problems or downtime? No, we cannot guarantee that you will never have any technical problems or downtime; no one can. However, we will guarantee you will see a significant drop in the number of problems you experience and a dramatic improvement in the speed, performance, and reliability of your system. How do the services EssentiaLink offers, MaintenanceFreeIT and Supply Chain Solution (SCS), fit together? MaintenanceFreeIT and SCS are independent services we provide for you. MaintenanceFreeIT takes the pressure off your IT resources and Supply Chain Solutions takes the pressure off your purchasing resources. Signing up for one does not obligate you to sign up for the other. How does SCS "take the pressure off" our purchasing resources? Most purchasing departments have to juggle the balance between strategic spend and hassling with non-strategic consumable items like pencils, shop supplies, safety product, etc.. Typically, people wait until they are out of consumables before informing Purchasing. Rather than having your purchasing experts waste time and money rushing in consumables, our SCS puts the purchasing power securely in the hands of the end user. How do we control renegade spend if end users are buying their own supplies? In one word, workflow. EssentiaLink's patented SCS incorporates a workflow system that tightly controls the entire ordering process including spend limitations, authorization requirements, p-cards, department code assignments, account code assignments and more. Our customers find renegade spend is significantly reduced because end users are often more concerned with price than overworked purchasing staff who would rather be working on strategic projects. |
